The mass murder of our children can no longer become victims as pawns in a deadly game in Congress.

These are the Senators that when they were afforded the ability to prevent potential terrorist shooters from purchasing high tech assault weapons. The sad truth is that the Orlando Shooter purchases his weapon just two weeks prior to the carnage at Pulse nightclub.

The roll call vote is public information available to the public online. As most of Americans know the number of nay votes were uttered by the entire block of Republican Senators. American citizens can no longer tolerate the Senators who fall under control of the NRA and the weapon industry. The sale of assault weapons both here and abroad represent largest profit base for America’s weapons culture.

One question comes to the fore, what amount in campaign fund contributions, cash or other perks overrules the lives of twenty children killed at Newton, a black place of worship in Charlestown and now the carnage in Orlando?

They hide behind a weak defense that any restriction (limitation) to the Second Amendment denies the right of all citizens to purchase and bear arms.  Just now, (Thursday AM, June 16} Speaker Paul Ryan avowed his Party opposition to defend the Bill of Rights. Ryan sees any moderation to this Right as the first step toward the dismantling of the Bill of Rights. Ryan does not understand or educated in American History and the rationale as why a modification to the Second Amendment at this time has legitimacy. Republican opposition is flawed and self-serving and is a blatant ossification of their oath of office all to protect the interest and bend to the will of a few special interests and very wealthy.

Republicans are not to be lauded for their staunch defense of the Bill of Rights. They are in fact gutless, weak and without any true empathy for the families and victims of all mass murders over the years. The public display they exhibit before the media is hypocritical and a lie as they retreat behind closed doors in the Capitol to caucus and strategize their support of gun law loopholes and the insanity that eventually ensues.

Representatives and Senators, the NRA and any other interest group who have continuously voted Nay on any gun control measure have blood on their hands by their acts of omission.

Their opposition to assault weapon sales and possession serves only to prove they do not possess the knowledge of law, basic education in American democracy with all its’ nuances and are unfit to hold public office.

For one, I find it difficult to believe that Americans across this nation support the madness of murder of citizens, public servants, blacks, elementary school children and the targeted group of the LGBT community.

The block of a Republican vote who fail to examine their own conviction, their beliefs and to stand up, even if alone and display the courage to support gun control or modification to the law are mere sheep followers. They are not the credible leaders they espouse to be.

As far as the list above, it is imperative for individual citizens, regardless of Party, religion, race or political position to text, write and bring the collective power of “We the People” to exercise our Constitutional Duty to bring every pressure to bear for the House and Senate to “govern for all the people, not a few billionaires.”

 

Where have we heard this before? This is the warning to the very wealthy by Bernie Sanders as a candidate for President. The Orlando carnage unfortunately a foreshadowing of what is to come if the “People do stand as one and Fight.”

IT IS TIME TO ACT AMERICA BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. You can begin by communicating by any vehicle at your disposal to let Congress know your view. For if you do not act, it may come to be that your children, your spouse, siblings and friends will be subject to violence and you may come mourn and grieve.

Do not stop with your Representatives, but contact some of the other culprits in the above list. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan should be at the top of the list.
