The president vacillated on policy, misinformation and at times a dismissal of science.  The President offered his own interpretation of the facts contradicting that of Dr. Anthony Fauci from the same podium in the White House briefing room. When Fauci presented the sobering facts and nation-wide mitigation recommendations to attack the global pandemic, the President minimized the crisis.  As the daily briefing became routine, a reversal in the format became obvious.
