GIVE PRESIDENT OBAMA A BREAK!

This morning's early news shows made much ado regardin g remarks by the President to a question raised at the end of his News Conference. The topic is that o f the Harvard Professor, an African American where local Cambridge Police arrested Professor Gates of allegedly breaking onto his own home. Many of the pundits touted that the President's remarks were not appropriate based on his agenda to promote a universal Health Care Reform program. The President admittedly stated he possessed a "bias" as he personally knew the professor in question who was treated "stupidly" as Obama is quoted. The President also indicated he "did not know all the facts" of the incident but went on to criticize the police and make an example of the "profiling" of minorities in America, the progress made in recent decades in the improvement of racial relations and that his current standing in America is proof of that same progress. Answer to a my space POST

A friend entered a heartfelt POST where he lamented the trials of changing friendships and a "feeling of always being alone." I was moved by his honesty and wished to respond to everyone who often "feels alone." Your sentiments reflect my own. In earlier years I grasped for friendship, honesty and loyalty as though holding on to a tree root in a futile attempt to survive. It was not just to survive. I held tightly until whom I thought was the right person! If they happened to stop, study my predicament and then scratch their chin asking themselves "should I get involved." Unfortunately our society is developing an increasing rate of those "individuals" who adopt a "Me First" personal mandate to their life. Today with someone who expects, demands honesty, loyalty and generosity of assistance without thought or care, consideration or gratitude and most surprisingly without any sense of loyalty or any feeling of mutual empathy when co

Red State Scare: Obama Leading To Socialism?

Date: Thu Jan 29 2009 17:59:03 EST Subject: Obama Policies Bordering on Socialism? Body: Response to Journal Posted on Subject: I am sorry to take a little time to reply to your questions regarding the new President's policies and programs. Sorry I tend to write long answers! In your 13-Jan question you cited what is concerned as concerns of the President's reversal on the Lobbyist role in his administration. Here is my response that he first 'banned' lobbyists: Date: 2009-01-23 14:34:05 First in response to above, I am not sure where you receive your information because it appears to me to be a bit skewed! From what I have been able to research on all the cabinet appointees to date I believe the individuals to whom you refer are Secretary of Commerce nominee Bill Richardson, Governor of Nevada and Secretary of Human Services the former Senator Tom Daschle. Of course we know that Richardson has since removed his name from consideration due to an investi

Today's Reflection

You may believe my ideas as old and only trite And if you pause there, progress and change Stop in your tracks! Cease here in your life. Let your mind be open, wide open Taking in all of the sky, the stars, and the universe! Dismiss no person, their feelings, hopes, aspirations and dreams! Certainly don't send them a message that may be interpreted So as to end another dead in their tracks! They then over-analyze, criticize themselves And who are we to judge, deliberate and cast the dye That may set them back years. Keep your senses stimulated, Do not easily discard People, ideas, dreams and a loving life, Including your own!
