CAN AMERICA HAVE A REFERENDUM ON THIS PRESIDENT? YES WE CAN!
YES WE CAN AND WE NEED THE RESULTS ON
4th OF JULY!

WHY A REFERENDUM?
Democratic House waffles on “to do or not to do.” The White
House and Attorney General block witness testimony and refuse to hand over
critical evidence to the Judiciary Committee. A Republican
controlled Senate refuses to adhere to their oath of office. If Congress is
obstructed then it is time for {We the] People voice their opinion on the
direction Congress proceeds in the investigation and Articles of Impeachment.
THE PRECEDENT and
BEST PRACTICE
Our democratic allies adhere to a principled rule of order
that offer these nations with additional tools to ensure and protect their
democracy. Great Britain and Canada routinely hold a “vote of no confidence” within
their parliamentary system in a call for a new government at the top. Theresa
May is one example. The “no confidence vote” was precipitated by the BREXIT
referendum to withdraw from the European Union.
It is time for the United States to take note and make this
the next experiment in democratic rule. Bipartisan politics has paralyzed
Congress for years. The House passes common sense legislation and the Senate
refuses to place these bills on the floor for debate and a vote. There is much
to debate as to why this barrier to act in the interest of the people but it is
futile to discuss this obfuscation of Constitutional duty. The elections of
2020 may resolve by replacing those members guilty of neglect.
Meanwhile why not mirror our allies, conduct an experiment run
by holding a nation-wide referendum? With this issue to do or not to do staring
us in the face every day, let the populace exercise a basic right to have their
voice be known. A wait or stall until the 2020 Election will not suffice. The
People need to give Congress a “kick in the ass” toward resolution.
Yes! We can insist that over a two-day period a referendum
must take place regarding the Impeachment of this president.
A referendum is unlike an error-prone poll of individual
opinion due to a minuscule sample of voters. It is not a vote but a means to
measure the pulse of the country.
A referendum should
be held over two days just prior to Independence Day to allow for the highest
participation. Individuals may select one of three choices that best reflect their
gut feeling on impeachment.
HOW A REFERENDUM
BECOMES REALITY?
The United States leads the world in high tech and the
development of hardware and software. What I came to know while working for the
State of Michigan is software already in place to collect data and summarize
the total numbers can be adapted to fit a pressing need.
The software application I employed contained basic
information for our clients and then by data entry checked off critical information
in several fields within the program. By substituting the new data to fit our
program in existing fields we had the capacity to record the relative data and
the software would total the data to measure of participation.
There is an existing hardware in place where individual
States can collect the opinion ballots through computers with a backup paper protection.
This process may have its faults but will be the closest to 100% in accuracy.
WHAT IS MY INNOVATION IN ADAPTING SOFTWARE?
It is a simple tool employed in 43 States and 3 non states
where the citizens are U.S. citizens. The three are the District of Columbia,
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. It is Lottery system. Here is an existing
program where the people have a better understanding that of most election
ballots.
The paper slips fed into the lottery offer both accuracy and can be totaled
in a fraction of the time of a general election. It avoids the difficulty
involved with thousands of precincts. It will provide a greater security
because partisan or foreign tampering will be eliminated.
A referendum can be
easily prepared and without U.S. Congress meddling or opposition. Participation
will be decided by the States. Both Blue and Red States will have a vested
interest to participate lest their citizens will be denied their voice.
Example: If North Carolina, a red state opposes participation as frivolous,
unconstitutional or too difficult to employ they will risk an under-count where
the majority no doubt will reject Impeachment in support of the president. So
be it!
THE ADVANTAGES TO FURTHER DEMOCRACY
The most important aspect and advantage of such a referendum
is the fact that more people will be motivated to participate due to the fact
it is “simple.” A referendum will no doubt exceed the largest participation of
any general election in our history.
Secondly, the turnout will certainly include participants
who have never voted. America can exercise true democratic participation as we
have the opportunity to have “same day voter registration! No doubt the
Republicans will oppose such as they are in the business of suppressing the
numbers and end their devious practice in every state where they use any
method to obstruct the vote. Are you listening Democrats?
Third, this referendum will serve as a snapshot of the upcoming 2020 Election. Both parties will possess data to determine which states they have strong support and others where they need to focus in winning votes.
THE PROCESS
As indicated 43 States and 3 Districts and Territories
conduct the Daily 3. Only Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, Utah
and Wyoming do not have a Daily 3 lottery. Some are Red States and some Blue.
Most have the smallest total populations as supported by the fact they have but
one (1) House member! Therefore, if they do not form caucuses or some
alternative method the numbers should not skew the numbers to a degree that
will taint the total numbers.
So, here is how we employ innovation to record the opinion
of the American people. Here are sample bet slips from Michigan.
Top to Bottom Samples A) 1-1-1 = YES B) 2-2-2 = NO C) 3-3-3 = Not Sure Option D): 4-4-4 = No Opinion |
