CORPORATE MEDIA CONSPIRES TO DEFEAT BERNIE SANDERS
MSNBC USES SKEWED POLL TO SABOTAGE THE SANDERS CAMPAIGN
Sen Bernie Sanders |
The line-up
of MSNBC programming has a history of undermining and ignoring growing success
of the Bernie Sanders Movement. This not to suggest these TV hosts are
mirroring that of the networks as they may be their opinions. However, this
litany of anti-Sanders slurs adds to their job security.
First, on the morning of Democrat Nevada debate, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle presents the
finding of a self-gratuitous poll by their measure of electability. The questions clearly targeted Bernie Sanders.
The poll illustrates the constant attack by NBC & MSNBC to sabotage his campaign.
Here are three pointed poll surveyed among Democratic voters.
A
wide majority of American voters do not favor a candidate who:
·
Is a Socialist
(67%)
·
Has had a
heart attack in past year
·
Is 75
years or older
Does this give a pass to Joe Biden (77), Michael Bloomberg (78) and even Donald Trump (73)?
Bernie cited
last night where NBC’s poll also shows he now leads by double-digits in a
national poll over other hopefuls. Sanders pointed to debate monitors looking
for rational in their slanted polls; “This is your poll.” Bernie pointed to
another truth; billionaires enjoy the socialism of the tax code and other
loopholes. Billionaires envy the extraordinary power of Russian oligarchs and
aspire to achieve the same power.
Bernie
Sanders repeatedly posed the efficacy of corporate media reporting on his
campaign and with good cause. Here is the rundown on MSNBC hosts and their
guests. This is not a personal attack; but their flaws)
- Chris Matthews, MSNBC host of Hardball, former speechwriter –during 2016 primary campaign was loathe to even mention Bernie by name, on Super Tuesday his speech began to slur in pronouncing name of Sanders, gave a discourse on Socialism of Castro’s Cuba, Soviet Union Cold War as a personal witness (40 years ago) and “he did not like it” [socialism]
- Joe Scarborough, MSNBC host Morning Joe –claims former Republican Conservative Fiscal Policy thus biased
- Mike Barnicle, former journalist, Boston Globe –frequent hanger-on Morning Joe & biased
- Stephanie Ruhle, NBC & MCNBC News anchor, former Bloomberg TV –seems to lean progressive but background is suspect
- Chuck Todd, NBC, MSNBC host Meet the Press – in first Democratic debate posed question Bernie Sanders found to be Republican “talking points.”
- Rachel Maddow, MSNBC host of The Rachel Maddow Show –would be nun, favors female candidates as guests, i.e. Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren and re-runs of Hillary Clinton
- Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC host The Last Word –appears to remain impartial in regard to Bernie
- James Carville, MSNBC consultant, former Democratic Campaign Strategist for Bill Clinton – assessing Bernie as nominee “scared to death of him”
- Charlie Sykes, MSNBC consultant, Conservative Republican founder, editor & host The Bulwark states Bernie will lose in a landslide “everyday…24/7 and twice on a Tuesday in November”
- Steve Schmidt, MSNBC consultant, as former Republican campaign strategist has issued scathing rebukes of Trump but a similar view of Sanders
- Jason Johnson, professor in Political Science –his criticism of Sanders runs the gamut from Race and Social as issues Bernie fails as the eventual candidate.
The
underlying questions; Why does the network and their political pundits spend as
much time in attacking the Bernie Sanders Movement as Donald Trump?
Do they fear they may be
taxed at a higher rate or their wealth at risk? They all favor a raise in the
minimum wage. No surprise here; they all earn far more so it is no sweat off
their back.
Is it they do not wish to give up similar loopholes in
the tax code they may enjoy?
Is this
nonpartisan journalism or a “post-it” note inserted in their narrative?
This also
begs the question of the worker hymn “Which Side Are You On?” –Pete Seeger
