HOW WOULD A MAP OF THE RUSSIAN CONVOY   APPEAR IN YOUR STATE

History is all important in understanding how the past affects the present. However, geography, topography, weather and culture play a huge part of our lives especially during war. Everyone should learn more than the basics of these disciplines if they are to understand contemporary events. If the young Russian troops are getting lost, the lack of geography must be worse than what is taught in our schools.

Grayling, MI - 205 mile, full length of a convoy to Detroit

The column of the Russian forces assembled on Ukraine's border began to move south toward Kiev. Early reports estimated it was seven miles long. The  assessment of the strength seem to follow hourly. Additional trucks continued to join the column including weapons to inflict damage upon residential areas and murder private citizens.

Satellite photos tracked a menacing force stretching 40 miles. Our military experts didn't hide the awe nor deep concern. It contains the full array of Russian tanks, tankers, rocket launchers and the banned vacuum bombs. At the same time our military salivates at the column. They are "sitting ducks" that West could decimate in a day.

As armchair tacticians we feel the frustration of  NATO forces are helpless to enter air space to take action. The convoy moved at a fair pace but not for long. The Russian column has been plagued due to vehicle failure and fuel shortages.  Russia's poor planning slowed the convoy , stalling, stopping and reduced to a crawl.

It is a relief to brave Ukrainians as their military have managed to ambush and degrade the superior Russian strength.

A question came to mind as to what the convoy would look like in Michigan traveling south to reign terror in Detroit. Perhaps. these maps illustrate the length and the psychological trauma  upon the Ukrainian people.

Above is a mark-up representing the length of a 40 mile Convoy

Grayling is home for Michigan reserve and national guard forces where they regularly assemble to train for readiness.

Ogemaw Township is the point where the spearhead of the convoy would advance
in the final leg toward Detroit. Lansing, the state capitol is easily in their reach.
